Victoria is a small town up on the northern part of the island of Grenada. Every last Saturday of the month a food fest is held there. It was supposed to be a lot of local cuisine so Carolyn and I went on the bus for the festivities. We were not disappointed. There was some very interesting dishes available, like crawfish, fish, bull penile and manish (goat testicle) waters. A waters is like a thin broth or soup. There was also stewed monkey and manicou (opossum).
Carolyn had the breadfruit pie and fried fish. I had the stewed monkey. We shared a sour sop ice cream for desert. Next time we go I will have to try something new, the manish water or manicou perhaps.
We head for Martinique soon for German beer and French chocolate. A bottle or two of French wine may also find it's way into the hold.
Fair winds to all.
